City of Boston

When I'm out capturing photos in the city, my focus often shifts away from the obvious buildings and sprawling cityscapes. Instead, I'm drawn to the interplay of colors and the intriguing shapes that emerge within the urban environment. There’s a unique kind of beauty in these abstract elements, a visual poetry that transcends the mere structural forms of the city. One of my favorite challenges is seeking out large shapes with unobstructed views, a task that's far from simple in a compact and bustling city like Boston. The city, with its dense architecture and constant motion, presents a canvas brimming with potential yet requires a keen eye to sift through the noise. It's like a treasure hunt where the prize is discovering those hidden geometries and vibrant hues that might otherwise go unnoticed. In these moments, the urban jungle transforms into a vibrant tapestry of patterns and colors. A splash of graffiti against an old brick wall, the rhythmic lines of shadows cast by fire escapes, or the bold, clean lines of a modern sculpture—all these elements come together to form a cohesive narrative. Each photograph becomes a study in composition, where the focus on color and shape brings a new perspective to the urban landscape.
Boston is a great city for walking.
